Work doesn't stop because the chimney is down. There is still a long way to go and a lot of setting out is currently going on. Footings are being prepared for the accessibility ramps from the Priory Garden and much work is going on in preparation for the steel frame that will hold up the chimney.
However, todays post is about the toilets. They are barely recognisable now. Walls have been demolished, floors removed and propping put in place to hold up the ladies choir room above. Eventually a new floor will be installed and access will be through the back wall from Cloister Way. There will be 9 toilet cubicles and an accessible toilet in this space.
Progress is swift at the moment but, sometimes you do wonder, and hope, that they can put it all back together again!
